Over the past 6 years CCAN and NanoNet Ireland have carried out a range of networking and independent brokerage services for members of the advanced materials community in Ireland. That community has heighted a strong desire to retain those benefits and services after Enterprise Ireland funding for CCAN research projects finishes in Feb 2016.
In response to these requests from the materials community, 2016 will see the establishment of a new member-funded networking organisation under the new name of Advanced Materials Ireland (AMI), with a plan for 2-3 core staff over the next few years.
AMI will continue the independent networking and brokerage services around advanced materials in Ireland (AMI) and represent the entire materials community at national and EU level. Dr. Ann O’Connell, currently NanoNet Coordinator will lead the establishment of AMI.
This survey is being sent to you as a valued member of the Irish materials community, as either a provider or user of materials expertise. The survey is needed to
- confirm the level of support for such a network and, most importantly,
- to identify what you consider are the most important activities that such a network. (Activities for which you would be able to justify your organisation’s membership fee)
Such activities must be important and valuable to you, or your organisation or your sector. Your inputs will frame AMI’s offerings over the coming 2-5 years.
